Shirley M. (Young) Neth

Shirley M. Neth, 91 of Smithville, MO passed away, Tuesday, May 5, 2015.

She was born on September 5, 1923 to John Hill and Mildred (Dodson) Young in St. Joseph, MO. She graduated from Smithville High School.

On October 30, 1942 she was united in marriage to C.O. Neth. After their marriage they lived on the family farm near Smithville, where they made their home. Her husband, C.O., passed away, May 19, 2003.

The Neth family was chosen as the Clay County and State of Missouri Farm Family of the Year.

She was a member of the Smithville United Methodist Church. Shirley was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, R.W. Dodson, and her daughter Mary Neth.

Shirley is survived by her son, Mike Neth and wife Shelia, Smithville, MO; grandsons, Marshall Neth and wife Audra and Zac Neth and wife Alicia; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Macy, Annamae, Josie, and Oscar; other relatives and many friends.

Private Family Burial was held at Arley Cemetery, Kearney, MO.
