Shirley L. (Ross) Keirns
Shirley L. Keirns, 73, of Platte City, MO, formerly of Faucett, MO, passed away, Monday, January 28, 2008.
She was born on August 6, 1934 to J. Glenn and Flora Lee (Berry) Ross in Springfield, Missouri. Shirley grew up and attended school in Atchison, Kansas.
On July 27, 1973 she was united in marriage to Robert J. Keirns. After their marriage they lived in Platte City, New Market, and Faucett where they made their home.
Shirley was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Edgerton.
She worked at Farris Truck Stop for over 20 years, and in her spare time loved to crochet.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Jean Thomas, and nephew, Jimmy Lemke.
She is survived by her husband, Robert, of the home; children, Edward D. Minyard and wife, Toyon, Lawton, OK, Janice M. Galles, Platte City, MO, and Timothy W. Minyard, Cedar Park, TX; four grandchildren, Lola, Robert, Christopher, and Cynthia; four great-grandchildren, David, MaKayla, Tracy, and Sage; two brothers, Charles Glenn Havens, Sr., and wife, Judy, Camden Point, MO, and Larry L. Blatt, and wife, Nancy, Franklin, TN; one sister, Patricia Mejia, Platte City, MO; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31st at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Edgerton.
Private Family Inurnment at Sunset Memory Gardens in Atchison, KS.
Donations may be made to the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Building Fund.
