Shirley Ellington

Shirley Ellington, 78 of Smithville, MO, passed away, Thursday, February 25, 2016.

She was born January 4, 1938 to Floyd Rupe and Mary Katherine (Moore) Ellington in Smithville, MO.  She grew up in Paradise, MO and graduated from Smithville High School.

Shirley lived in Riverside, MO for over 20 years.  She was a waitress and cook for most of her life.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Katie Ellington, one brother James ”Jimmie” Ellington and three sisters Nancy Kay Ellington and Jo Ann McCormack, and Jean Barber.

She is survived by her children Rick Webb and wife Sarah, Rebecca Webb, Keith Webb, Kim Eshnaure, Wayne Webb ,and Tammy Jennings and husband Jeff; ten grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; brother Jerry Ellington and wife Twila; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services:  2:00 p.m. Monday, February 29th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial:  Smithville Memorial Cemetery

    I am so sorry to hear about Shirley’s passing. I grew up as a neighbor and loved being at her house. My mom played cards with her and she was always laughing and enjoying life. She will be greatly missed.
