In Remembrance Of

Sherry Whitfield

I’ll love you forever. I’ll like you for always.

Sherry Julaine Whitfield went home to Jesus on Jan 29, 2022 at age 68.

She leaves behind a beautiful legacy with her husband Dennis of 43 years, a legacy built on their love for their Savior. From her faith, Sherry served her family selflessly and leaves here on earth her son Marcus (wife Catherine), daughter Rachel (husband Brandon), and Sherry’s 5 treasures, her grandchildren: Tyler, Jack, Liv, Walden, and Thatcher.

Sherry is also survived by her mother Gerrie Collier, sisters Judy Taylor (husband Tom) and Tina Summers (husband Donnie), brother Charles Collier, nieces and nephews, and so many more loved ones. Those beloved family who have gone before her include her father Louis Collier and her sister Janet Mudd. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend,

Sherry was passionate about serving others through Mt. Olivet Christian Church. She impacted many young lives leading Vacation Bible School and children’s programs over the years. Sherry was a creative at heart and her crafts and drawings have been loved by many.

Services will be held on Tuesday, February 1st at Mt. Olivet Christian Church, Smithville. Visitation at 1pm with the Celebration of Life Service at 2pm. Burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mt. Olivet Christian Church.

Dennis, Marcus, and Rachel, we are so sorry for your loss. Randy and I were blessed when Sherry became part of our family when Catherine married the love of her life, Marcus. We always enjoyed her visits to Chattanooga, and the time spent together during birthday and holiday celebrations will be treasured memories. One of my fondest memories of Sherry is sitting together watching our grandchildren play. We were both beaming with pride, bragging to each other (which grandmothers can shamelessly do!) about how smart and adorable they were. She loved to share stories about Tyler and Jack, her eyes twinkling as she told me of their achievements in school and how they were growing and thriving. Sending our love and prayers to all. Sherry will be deeply missed.

She was always smiling, full of energy, and bringing joy to whomever she was speaking with. May God comfort and encourage you during this time.
