Sherman “Wayne” Molder
Sherman Wayne Molder, 84, of Kansas City, MO passed away, January 9, 2017.
He was born on September 12, 1932 to Homer and Bernice (Kennedy) Molder in Trimble, MO. Wayne grew up and attended school in Plattsburg and Paradise. Wayne then served his country in the U.S. Navy for 4 years on the USS Sicily Destroyer CVE 118.
Wayne met his wife Lenora Harmer at her friends house playing dominos. On July 2, 1955 they were united in marriage at the home of Minister Elton Rice in Paradise, MO. Wayne and Lenora lived in Kansas City, MO where they made their home.
Wayne was a laborer and retired from Agco. Many of his coworkers knew him as Oaks. Wayne 9 year cancer survivor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, four sisters, two infant grandchildren, and one great-great-grandaughter, A’Maya Carroll.
He is survived by his wife, Lenora, of the home; five daughters, Toni (Carl) Ward, Terry (John) Stewart, Susie (Chuck) Ford, Mary Shurtz, and Sheila (Bruce) Fulks; fourteen grandchildren, Kristen, Kristina, Ashley, Natasha, Briana, Madison, Charlie, David, Lisa, Buddy, Kari, Danny, Robert and Beth Ann; twenty-one great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Dixie (John) Tarr; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 11:30 a.m. Thursday, January 12th at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Edgerton, with visitation from 10:00-11:30 a.m. prior to the service.
Burial with Military Honors: Ridgely Cemetery
Arrangements, Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to Toms Mission for KC Homeless or to Northcare Hospice.
