Shelly was my co-worker at NKCH. She was an excellent nurse and one I would trust to be my nurse or a family member. She was very conscientious, always paid attention to detail, was reliable and dependable and very intelligent. I am very saddened by her death. Praying for her family.

Shelly began her career at Children’s Mercy in March 2016. During our time together, Shelly exemplified the core values of honesty, integrity, and a questioning mindset. She primarily worked with the Dialysis/Kidney Transplant team, where she played a crucial role in escalating issues and spearheading several projects to improve regulatory compliance, quality, and patient safety.
Shelly and I had a great working relationship, and she significantly contributed to my growth as a leader. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her influence continues to resonate throughout our organization. Rest in peace, Shelly. Your legacy lives on in the work we do every day.

Shelly’s coworkers here in cardiac rehab at North Kansas City Hospital mourn the loss of a great person, employee, and good nurse. I appreciated all she gave to our department to help educate patients. She was missed when she left our department and missed even more now. Our prayers and thoughts are with her family and friends as they grieve her passing.

Shelly was my coworker and also my friend. She always made my day brighter. We enjoyed discussing many things in our routine work meetings. One of those things was our plans for retirement. I am deeply saddened by her early death. To her family–I am sorry for your loss. She was a wonderful person.
