Sharon Bosworth

Sharon Bosworth, 84, of Smithville, MO passed away, June 25, 2024 at her home.

She was born on August 1, 1939 to Earl Jackson and Iona Marie (Turner) Rector in Arkansas City, Kansas where she grew up. Sharon attended Topeka High School. She later received bachelor’s degree in nursing.

On November 17, 1956 she was united in marriage to Jesse Bosworth. After their marriage they lived in Gladstone, and in 1988 they moved to Smithville where they made their home.

She was a registered nurse and worked at several hospitals and nursing homes in the area. After her retirement, she volunteered at St. Luke’s Northland Hospital and the polling booths during the elections. Sharon enjoyed shopping, painting, ceramics, embroidery, playing bingo and jigsaw puzzles.

She was preceded in death by parents, her son, Richard Bosworth, and granddaughter, Kelly.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Jess; son, Dale (Victoria) Bosworth; daughter, Vicki Pruett; six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter; brother-in-law, Jerry Bosworth; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Post; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 2nd at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Smithville with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial: Community of Smithville Memorial Cemetery, Smithville, MO.
