Sallie Snook
Sallie A. (Evans) Snook passed away October 29th, 2017 in Cameron Missouri.
Sallie was born in Youngstown, Ohio, but was a long-time Platte County resident, having spent over 55 years on a farm in Edgerton.
Sallie is survived by her husband Staley L. Snook, Sr., of Edgerton, a brother Thomas Evans, of San Diego California, and four children, Staley Jr., Sheryl, Steven, and Sheldon, their spouses, and numerous grand and great grandchildren.
Sallie served in the U.S. Marine Corp and was Commander of the local American Legion post. She served as a school board member, and was very active in Boy Scouts, the Edgerton Chamber of Commerce, and Edgerton Pioneer Days.
Sallie worked many years as a mail carrier and in the Platte County government, and was involved in numerous local, county, and state Democratic political campaigns.
She regularly attended the Catholic Church in Smithville. Serving others is how she lived her life.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Missouri Veterans Home – Cameron Assistance League, 1111 Euclid Avenue, Cameron, MO 64429.
The family will host a Celebration of Life Visitation from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Friday, November 24th at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Community Center, Edgerton, MO.
