Sallie Lousia Goad Roark
Sallie Lousia Roark, 89, of Edgerton, MO, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2008 at her home.
She was born on May 15, 1918 to George and Ella P. (Goad) Arnold in Plattsburg, MO, where she grew up and attended school.
On April 19, 1938 she was united in marriage to Herman Lee Goad. After their marriage they lived in Clinton and Platte Counties and in 1967 moved to St. Joseph, MO. In 1984 they moved to Edgerton. Her husband, Herman passed away on February 20, 1985.
On February 9, 1989 she was united in marriage to Shelby R. Roark. After their marriage they lived in Edgerton and St. Joseph. Shelby passed away on December 18, 2004.
Sallie was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Edgerton.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, David and Dan; four grandchildren, Patricia Ann Dunham, Bob Dunham and twins, Gary and Dean Burke; three sisters, Betty Johnson-Russell, Ila Baker and Lula Foster; and three brothers, Clarence Arnold, Frank Arnold and Dee Arnold.
Sallie is survived by her four sons, Bob, Bill and Tom Goad, all of Edgerton and Steve Goad, Oklahoma City; two daughters, Ella Dunham, Edgerton, and Joyce Burke, Trimble, MO; twenty grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Barbara Roberts, Sedalia, MO; six step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, four step-great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 22nd at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church
