Ruth Waters
Ruth Jeraline (Gordon) Waters, 88, of Missouri City, Mo. went to be with her Lord on Friday, January 29, 2021.
She was born on July 22, 1932 to the late Ellis and Trella Gordon in Plattsburg, Mo. She was united in marriage to Lewis Richard Waters on December 15, 1950. Ruth and Lewis shared 70 years of marriage and made a wonderful home for their family.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Lewis, of the home and three children: Belinda Turner (Bob Tarver), Richard (Karen Renee) Waters, and Karen Collison (Rob Montgomery); five grandchildren: James (Vicky) Turner, Michael (Abby) Turner, Emiley Collison (Tim Davis), Betsy (Adam) Heaton, and Jonathon J.R. (Kate) Waters, eleven great grandchildren: Kaitlyn Turner, Magdalyn Turner, Noah Turner, Hannah Turner, Levi Turner, Jenna Abbott, Dillon Davis, Kara Davis, Tre (Tamara) Heaton, Mason Heaton, Wyatt Waters, and one great-great grandchild, Coraline Heaton. Ruth is also survived by her dear sisters-in-law: Sandra Gordon, Ottawa KS, Louetta Wade, Trimble MO, Juanita Anderson, Trimble MO, Lucille Meek, Platte City MO, Louise Ralston, Smithville MO, and Patsy Waters, Kearney MO and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by an infant son, Darrell Lewis Waters. Also, preceding her in death were her seven brothers and sisters: Elsie (Forrest) Smith, James Jr. (Eva) Gordon, Paul Gordon, Walter (Delores) Gordon, Bill Gordon, Darlene Lane, and Maxine Lane. In addition, she was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Daniel Rice and Vera Lou (Dray) Waters along with sisters-in-law Evvalyne Lloyd and Addelyne Moore, and her brothers-in-law David Waters, Garland Wade, James Meek, Ray Anderson, Lester Lloyd, and Kenneth Moore.
Ruth, whose nickname was “Deanie”, was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a career as a seamstress for Linda Lane, Nelly Don, and Mendel Garment Factories and as a technician for Harrisonville Harness. After retiring, she lovingly hand-stitched many beautiful quilts for friends and family. She was well known for her straight talk, her sense of humor, and her love for family. No services are planned at this time.

Aunt Deanie was one of a kind. She was loved so much. I’ll always remember her amazing sense of humor! She could keep you laughing for hours. She was a wonderful mother too. She will be missed for sure. I’ll always love her.

This just breaks my heart. “Aunt Deannie” was a very special lady! No other like her, truly one of a kind. Definitely a straight talker. Always funny. Loved spending summers with her and Lewis and Karen when I was a child. You will be missed soo much. Truly a blessing to have had her in our lives.
