Ruth Murphy
Ruth Matilda Murphy, 105, of Platte City, MO passed away, Saturday, January 13, 2018.
She was born on January 31, 1912 to Edward Eugene and Myrtle B. (Baber) Murphy in Edgerton, MO where she grew up and attended Franklin School.
Ruth farmed south of Edgerton in Platte County, and in 1995 she moved to Platte City. She also worked at Carver’s Grocery Store in Smithville for 15 years.
She was a member of Little Platte Baptist Church for over 90 years.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Eugene Murphy, and her nephew, Richard Murphy.
She is survived by her niece, Carole Pine, Platte City, MO and her niece-in-law, Nellie Murphy; several great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and great-great-great nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 17th at Little Platte Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial: Smith Cemetery

Ruth was a great woman. I grew up in the church with her being a teacher and leader. I am so sorry for your loss.
