RUTH NELSON

Ruth Marie Nelson, 69, of Edgerton, Mo., passed away, Sunday, June 12, 2005 at her home.

She was born on October, 2, 1935 to Paul Amos and Euna Mae (Smith) Spiers in Pattonsburg, Mo. The family moved to Edgerton, Mo., where Ruth attended school.

On July 21, 1953 she was united in marriage to Bob Nelson. After their marriage they lived in Edgerton where they made their home. Her husband, Bob, passed away March 19, 2000.

Ruth worked at National Bellas Hess and the Canteen Food Service, both in Kansas City, Mo.

She was a member of the Christian faith, and attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Edgerton.

Ruth was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, James and Paul Spiers, Jr., and one sister, Mary Lanham.

She is survived by two sons, Mike Nelson and wife, Jody, Gower, Mo., and Jeff Nelson, Edgerton, Mo., three grandchildren, Brian, Hannah, and Lance, two brothers, Donald Spiers, Gower, Mo., and Kelly Spiers, Edgerton, Mo., four sisters, Ella Mae Hackett, Smithville, Mo., Donna Mullendore, Dearborn, Mo., Darlene Amos, Agency, Mo., and Sharon Crowder, Edgerton, Mo., numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 15th at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Edgerton, Mo.
Burial: Ridgely Cemetery, Edgerton, Mo.
Visitation: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
