Ruth E. Hixson
Ruth E. Hixson, 93, of rural Gower, MO passed away December 14, 2018.
She was born on September 7, 1925 to Lucian and Mary (Sykes) Hurt in Milan, MO where she grew up and graduated from Milan High School. Ruth attended Truman State College in Kirksville, MO and received her teaching certificate. She was a school teacher for several years.
On September 4, 1955 she was united in marriage to Robert Elvin Hixson. After their marriage they farmed near Gower where they made their home. Robert passed away on August 28, 1995.
Ruth was a member of the Stony Point Presbyterian Church near Mecca. Ruth enjoyed reading, crocheting, gardening and her flowers. She was an amazing cook, mother and friend.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother Emery Hurt.
Ruth is survived by her sons Greg Hixson and wife Brenda and Terry Hixson; granddaughter Sara; other relatives and many, many friends.
Graveside Services: 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 21st at Allen Cemetery, Gower
