Ruth Anna (Blakely) Courtney
Ruth Anna Courtney, 105, of Camden Point, MO passed away Sunday, October 14, 2012 at the Gower Convalescent Center.
She was born on August 30, 1907 to Frank Marion and Blanche Scott (Thomas) Blakely in Grayson, MO. Ruth grew up and attended school in Camden Point.
On January 30, 1931 she was united in marriage to Harold Lee Courtney. After their marriage they lived in Platte County near Camden Point. In 1950 they moved to Camden Point where they made their home. Her husband preceded her in death on December 11, 1985.
Ruth was a member of the Camden Point Baptist Church. She loved gardening, sewing and reading.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, and daughter, Linda Sollars.
She is survived by her children, Robert Courtney and wife Phyllis, Larry Courtney and wife, Lise, and Shirley Hill; grandchildren, Kimberly Cole, Craig Courtney, Sarah C. Haberberger, Alex Courtney, Mark Hill, Jeff Hill and Dustin Sollars; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Brett, Cailie, Chaney, Cody, Jason, Jarod, Evan, Levi, Jaiden, Cameron and Courtney; great-great-granddaughters, Macy, Callie, Sophia, and Harper; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 18th at the Camden Point Baptist Church
Burial: Camden Point Cemetery
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday October 17th at the church.
Donations may be made to the church.
