RUBY M. DeVORE
Ruby M. DeVore, 88, of Agency, Mo., passed away, Saturday, October 8, 2005 at a hospital in St. Joseph.
She was born on November 8, 1916 to William Ernest and Anna Lee (Taylor) Brinton near Agency. She attended school and grew up near Agency and in 1934 graduated from Agency High School.
On May 10, 1939 she was united in marriage to Moses DeVore. After their marriage they lived near Dearborn, returning to the Agency area in 1941 where they farmed and made their home. Her husband, Moses, passed away on July 4, 1970.
Ruby worked for the Frazier Baptist Church as caretaker for many years and was a 4-H Leader in the Frazier Community for over 25 years.
She was a member of the Frazier Baptist Church and the #5 Extension Club.
Ruby was also preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Derrick Fortner, and her twin sister, Ruth Allen.
She is survived by one son; John W. DeVore and wife, Linda, St. Joseph, Mo., two daughters; Marcella Fortner and husband, Darrell, Gower, Mo., and Veta M. DeVore, of the home, five grandchildren, John Jr., Michelle, Danielle, Devin and Megan, five great-grandchildren, Alexi, Darrell R., Dannette, Dalton, and Derek, and one great-great-granddaughter, Karena, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 11th at Hixson-Klein Funeral, Gower, Mo.
BURIAL: Frazier Cemetery
VISITATION: 6:30-8:00 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
