Roy Nelson Hyatt, Jr.

 

 

Roy Nelson Hyatt, Jr., 86, of Pleasant Valley, MO passed away, Tuesday, May 20, 2014.

 

He was born on August 17, 1927 to Roy Lee and Eula Flora (Dray) Hyatt in Indianapolis, IN.  He attended school and grew up  near Starfield, MO and attended Cameron High School. 

He then served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

On July 6, 1947 he was united in marriage to Wilma J. Hartman.  She preceded him in death on August 28, 2004.

Roy worked for the North Kansas City Fire Department for over 32 years, retiring in 1992.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Carl Hyatt, three sisters, Dorothy Grace Hyatt, Rosemary Johnson and Catherine Hyatt, son, Jerry Hyatt, grandson Jeff Hyatt.

Roy is survived by his sons, Steve Hyatt, Ronald Hyatt, and John Hyatt; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rev. Russell Hyatt and Tommy Hyatt; three sisters, Annabelle Rice, twins, Linda Green and Glenda Reynolds; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 23^rd at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial:  Mt. Zion Cemetery, Gower.
