Roy Corless

Roy Corless, 69, of Smithville, MO passed away, May 30, 2023.

He was born on May 6, 1954 to Franklin Claire and Dorothy Lee (St. John) Corless in Smithville, MO. Roy grew up in Smithville and graduated from Smithville High School in 1973.

In 1974 he was united in marriage to Cathy Sellars. After their marriage they lived in Smithville where they raised their two daughters. After their divorce, Roy traveled the United States as a contracted computer designer. His daughters, “world travelers”, were able to join him on vacations during their summer breaks and see the sites which he highly enjoyed. In 2003 he retired from his industry so he could spend more time caring for his parents and to enjoy his many years of being a grandpa.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Roy is survived by his daughters, Doety Wright and Jennifer Corless; grandchildren, Shelbie, Jasmine, and Jacob Wright and Jaden, Savannah, and Harley Beloff; great-grandchildren, Sally Gallo and Addi Dozier; siblings, David Corless, Cheryl Mason, and Daniel (Donna) Corless and their daughter, Danielle Jones; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 10th with visitation one hour prior to the service at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Smithville.
