Roxie Blackburn

Roxie Blackburn, 98, of St. Joseph, MO passed away, Tuesday, October 1, 2019.

She was born on July 26, 1921 to John Edward and Lizzie Vie (Clark) Farmer in Nodaway County, MO. Roxie grew near Amazonia where she attended school. 

 On December 4, 1949 she was united in marriage to Frank O. Blackburn. After their marriage they lived south of St. Joseph, MO where they made their home. Her husband, Frank, passed away on September 26, 1999.

Roxie was a member of the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing and raising chickens. 

 Roxie was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Margaret Evans; and brothers Gaye, John, Ray, and Jim Farmer.

She is survived by her children, Eddie (Patricia) Blackburn and Shirley (Allen) Stafford; niece and nephew, who were raised in the home, Lizabeth (Randy) Shimer and Richard (Iris) Evans; four grandchildren, Frank (Chastity) Stafford, James (Adriane) Stafford, Dean (Misty) Blackburn and Laura Smith; twelve great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 5th at Sparta United Methodist Church, St. Joseph, MO with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial: Camden Point Cemetery, Camden Point, MO.

Donations: Sparta United Methodist Church.

Arrangements, Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.
