Rosemary Jo “Rosie” (Hendren) Wilson

Rosemary Jo “Rosie” Wilson, 85, of Hemple, MO passed away Sunday May 26, 2013.

 

She was born on April 10, 1928 to Charles Harley and Lucille Fern (Funk) Hendren in Martinsville, MO where she grew up and in 1946 graduated from Martinsville High School. 

 

November 20, 1948 she was united in marriage to Chester Roy Wilson.  After their marriage lived in St. Joseph and in 1954 moved to Hemple where they made their home and raised their three children. 

 

Rosie worked at Chase Candy Company in St. Joseph and the Gower Convalescent Center.  She was baptized in 1962 and was a member of the Hemple Community Church.  Rosie was also a member of the Hemple Ladies Birthday Club and the Hemple Ladies Aide where they made cloth bandages for cancer patients. She was also involved for several years with the American Cancer Society Drive, where she went neighbor to neighbor collecting for the cause. 

 

She was preceded in death by her daddy in 1935, her mommy in 1994, brother Bobby Sam Hendren, step-brother Dale Lee Ramey, step sister Maxine Lawrence, an infant grandson Harley Dean Wilson and infant great-granddaughter Christina Rae Auxier.

 

Rosie is survived by her husband Chester; children, Cindy Tripp and husband Chuck, Stewartsville, MO, Doug Wilson and wife Donna, Stewartsville, MO and Lisa Gay Wilson, St. Joseph, MO;  five grandchildren, Curtis Auxier, Amy Morgan, Jason Wilson and wife Rachel, Rachel Buckner, and Katey Buckner; six great-grandchildren, Austin, Dalton, Garrett, Dylan, Jalyn, and Hannah; step sister, Madeline Schiefelbusch, several nieces, nephews and cousins, many friends and neighbors and special caregivers, Lucille Vanness and Kathy Anderson.

 

 

Funeral Services: 6:30 p.m. Wednesday May 29th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower with visitation following until 9:00 p.m.

Donations may be made to American Cancer Society.
