Rose Ann (Roberts) West

Rose Ann West, 80, of Gower, MO passed away Sunday, August 30, 2009 at Gower Convalescent Center.

She was born on July 18, 1929 to Henry and Leona (Alfano) Roberts in Fort Smith, Arkansas where she grew up and in 1947 graduated from St. Anne’s High School. Rose Ann then attended X-Ray Technician School in Oklahoma.

On October 18, 1951 she was united in marriage to Jack Carl West in Fayetteville, Arkansas. After their marriage they lived in Westville, Oklahoma and later moved to Norman, Oklahoma. In 1955 they moved to Liberty, Missouri and in 1968 they moved to Gower where they made their home. Her husband, Jack, passed away on December 7, 1995.

Rose Ann was secretary to the Dean of Men at William Jewell College in Liberty, MO. In 1969 she began her 30 year career at the Gower Convalescent Center, where she was a nurse’s aide, med tech, and retired in medical records.

Rose Ann was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Easton, MO where she was a member of the Altar Society.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Rose Ann is survived by one son, Rex West and wife, Michele, Conroe, TX; three daughters, Regina Grier and husband, Larry, Jan Pottier and husband, Paul all of Gower and Marylou Euler and husband David, Stewartsville, MO; thirteen grandchildren, Ryan, Meghan, Aaron (Shawna), Andy (Lisa), Aubrey, Abbey, Rachael (Sean), Jackie, Christopher (Natalie), Sarah (Scott), Seth (Megan), Rachel and Rebekah (Steven); great-grandchildren, Dyson, Devon, Madison, and Sophie and two on the way; sister, Judy Bivens and husband, John, Fort Smith, AR; one niece, Tracy Harris; two great-nephews, Chase and Ethan; other relatives and many friends.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 2nd at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Easton, MO

Inurnment: Allen Cemetery, Gower, MO

Rosary: 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower with visitation following until 8:30 p.m.

Donations may be made to the Gower Convalescent Center.
