Rosa L. Kleppe

Rosa L. Kleppe, 82, of St. Joseph, MO went to live with Jesus at Diversacare Rehab in St. Joseph, MO on November 4, 2016. 

She was born to Frank and Lillian (Combes) Garnett on December 13, 1934 in Roaring Springs, TX.  She was the youngest of 11 children and was known as Sissy. 

Rosa was a beautician for many years.  After her retirement, she owned and managed several Bars all in St. Joseph.

She was a life member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary # 6760 and the VFW National Children’s Home.  In her later years she enjoyed crocheting, sewing and quilting some of the best made and prettiest quilts around for family and friends in the community. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Raedell Johnson; step-grandson Chris Dreier, former husband Marvin Kleppe; and eight brothers and sisters.

Rosa is survived by her two brothers D.F. Garnett of Tucumcari, New Mexico and K.P. Garnett and wife Florence of Grosebeck, Texas; children Marlene Mullen and companion Garry Leer, 2 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; Maurice and Deborah Kleppe, 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; Tereta and Marvin Massey, 1 grandchild and 2 great-grandchildren and Raedell’s surviving children Jon Johnson and Josh (Beckie) Johnson, 4 great-grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed by everyone she has touched in her lifetime.  Miss ya Mom.        

Celebration of Life:  6:00 p.m. Wednesday November 9th with visitation following until 8:00 p.m. at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower

Memorials to VFW National Children’s Home or in her memory c/o the Funeral Home.
