Ronald “Ron” Neely
Ronald “Ron” Ray Neely, 61, of Gower, MO passed away, January 10, 2017 at his home after his lengthy battle with cancer
He was born on May 7, 1955 to Donald Ray and Vera Beatrice (Wood) Neely in Chillicothe, MO. Ron grew up in Chillicothe and graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1974.
On October 1, 1977 he was united in marriage to Paula Buckman. After their marriage they made their home near Gower.
Ron began his career at St. Joseph Light and Power and retired as a Superintendent of the Line Division at R/S Electric.
He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Easton. Ron was a member of the IBEW Local #53. Ron enjoyed being at the lake, camping, boating, riding motorcycles, and especially spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ron is survived by his wife, Paula, of the home; children, Alicia Karl and husband Stephen, Clinton Neely and wife Stephanie, Erin Harris and husband Michael; grandchildren, Kasen and Kinley Karl, Ashlyn and Ayden Neely, Maddox and Harper Harris; two sisters, Brenda Eckert (Ray Sanson) and Connie (Dickie) Snyder; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Alice Buckman; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lynn and Rick Palma, Brent and Janet Buckman, Brian Buckman, and Kristy and Tim Owens; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph, MO.
Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Easton, MO.
Prayer Service: 6:00 p.m. Friday at the Gower Christian Church AFC Building with visitation following until 9:00 p.m.
The family suggests donations to Mosaic Hospice or St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
