Ronald J. Tyson
Ronald “Ron” J. Tyson, 64, of Smithville, MO, passed away, Friday, May 4, 2007.
He was born on April 20, 1943 to Earl Ray and Wilma June (Stewart) Tyson in Smithville, MO, where he grew up and graduated from Smithville High School. He then served his country in the U.S. Navy. After his honorable discharge he returned to Smithville.
On September 20, 1963 he married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Barber. After their marriage they lived in the Smithville area.
Ron worked as a supervisor for TWA and later American Airlines, retiring in 2004 after 42 years. After retirement he remained active as a handyman and remodeling homes.
He was a member of the Barry Christian Church and the Smithville Masonic Lodge.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Earlene Boger.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of the home; two daughters, Ronda Anderson and husband, David, Ft. Dodge, IA, and Rebecca Henshaw, Smithville, MO; six grandchildren, Leann Vermillion and husband Sean, Cameron, Casey, and Cody Anderson, and Jaci and Callie Henshaw; sister, Rayma Sue Tyson, Platte City, MO; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Memorial Service: 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 8th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville, where the family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 following the service.
