After a brief battle with cancer, Ronald Earl Roe, 65, of Edgerton, MO, passed from this life into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on November 23, 2020.

Born on December 21, 1954 to Victor Earl and Ruby Faye (Wright) Roe in Smithville, MO, Ron grew up in Edgerton and in 1973 graduated from North Platte High School. On July 4, 1976, he married the love of his life, Cheryl Leigh Davidson. Ron and Cheryl were lifelong residents of Platte County where they raised and homeschooled their five children.

Over the years, Ron provided for his family through various occupations, including telephone lineman, rural mail carrier, and owner/operator of a family lawn care business. Ron enjoyed horseback riding and cattle farming, and was ever-busy with projects to improve life for others. He was active in the church and loved sharing his faith by leading numerous children’s ministries. The priority and passion of Ron’s life was his family.

He was preceded in death by parents Earl and Ruby Roe and brother Rick Roe.

Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife Cheryl Roe; children Mindy (Mike) Juhnke, Matthew Roe, Michelle (Andy) Morley, Michael (Bailey) Roe, and Mark (Jessica) Roe; and grandchildren Isaac, Judson, Luke, Rebekah, John Mark, Kodi, Rachel, Wyatt, Wesley, Mary Beth, Joanna, Julia, Susie, Janey, and Devin; brother John (Dana) Roe; sister Carol Mercer; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Private burial will be held at Ridgely Cemetery.

Ron’s heart for children’s ministry included Spencer Family Music. I am so sorry for your loss. Ron trained me at Ameristar Casino many years ago and then we worked together until his retirement. I can honestly say he was one of the best human beings I have met in my 50 years on this earth. Just a genuinely good person. Those of us that had the pleasure of knowing him were blessed.

    You’ll be remembered fondly Batman!

Ron was a good trumpeter, football/ basketball player, track star and my best friend the 3 years I was at North Platte.
Band camp in Maryville was memorable as well. I’m sure he’ll be remembered for many great attributes by his family and friends for years to come. What a sorrowful loss. Our prayers are with you all.

So sorry for one loss of your loved one. Ron was a few years younger than me and a couple years older than my sister, Susan Heath. He was a really good guy back in those days.

I was able to thankfully meet Ron at the fire station where I worked with his son Michael. I didn’t know him well. He just seemed like a great person. Someone you wanted to sit down with and talk to and get to know…and ask how he was able to raise a family of such amazing people. What was his secret? I didn’t get to ask him that…. but I know his family was so fortunate to have him for the time they did. To glean the knowledge and wisdom and love and the wherewithal to be great. Not a day will go by when you don’t think of him and all the time you spent together. Take care…
