Rollie Alden “Junior” Musser

Rollie Alden “Junior” Musser, 87, of Gower, MO, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013.

 

He was born on February 2, 1926 to Rollie Lee and Clara Belle “Callie” Musser in the Starfield Community.  He attended school at Mt. Zion and Plattsburg.  He then served his country in the US Army during WWII.  After his honorable discharge he moved to Gower.

 

On October 15, 1983 he was united in marriage to Roxy Ann (Waitkoss) Moore.  After their marriage they lived in Hemple and in 1996 they moved to Gower where they made their home.

 

Junior worked for 7-Up Bottling Company in St. Joseph for over 20 years and was a plumber in Gower for many years. 

 

He was a member of the American Legion Post #359 in St. Joseph, MO and a member and past-master of the Gower Masonic Lodge.  In 1970, Junior served as Mayor of Gower and was a member of the Gower Old Timer’s Baseball Hall of Fame.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-daughter, Sharon Ann Decker; six brothers, William C, Leonard Kay, Robert Clay, Charles R, Allen B and Darrell L Musser; and three sisters Jean Musser, Nettie Bottoroff and Anna Mae Summerfield.

 

Junior is survived by his wife, Roxy of the home; daughter Connie Sitton and husband Fred; son Mike Musser and wife Katie; granddaughters Nicole Farr and Stacey Sandoval and husband William; great-grandchildren Mariessa Farr and Zayden Sandoval; step-sons, Steve Moore and Jeff Moore and wife Jan; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; sisters Doris Brinton and Joan Gilleland; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

 

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 6th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower

Burial with Military Honors:  Mt. Zion Cemetery, Gower

Masonic Service: 6:30 p.m. Friday July 5th with visitation following until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
