Roberta Jean Shaw

Roberta Jean Shaw, 81 of Smithville MO passed away Thursday, August 15, 2013.

 

She was born on May 1, 1932 to Willard Howard and Katherine Frances (Shepherd) Petitt in Smithville, MO.  Jean grew up in Smithville and graduated from Smithville High School.

 

Jean was united in marriage to Robert Morris Shaw.  After their marriage they lived in Smithville where they made their home.  Her husband, Bob, passed away in 1979. 

 

Jean was an accountant at Pioneer Container retiring, after 35 years.  She enjoyed country music, sewing, crocheting, and loved cats.

 

She was also preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Ronald B. Atkins, and grandson, Michael D. Atkins.

 

Jean is survived by her children, Mike Atkins and wife Cecilia, Debbie Spiers and husband Kelly, and Robert Shaw and wife Robin; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brothers, Jack Petitt and Jerry Petitt; and sisters, Sue Hollon and Judy Blevins; several nieces and nephews, other relatives, including David Shore and many friends.

 

Funeral Service:  1:00 p.m. Monday August 19^th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial:  Smithville Memorial Cemetery
