Robert R. “Cotton” Harris
Robert R. “Cotton” Harris, 96, of Plattsburg, MO passed away, Sunday, December 25, 2016.
He was born on August 23, 1920 to Ral and Effie (Carter) Harris just outside of Plattsburg, where he grew up. Cotton graduated from Plattsburg High School in 1939.
On April 4, 1958 he was united in marriage to Connie Pearson. After their marriage they made their home on the family farm. His wife, Connie, preceded him in death on September 10, 2004.
Cotton was a man of great integrity with a deep Christian faith. He farmed all his life, raising pigs, cattle and crops. He loved to visit and spend time with family, friends and neighbors. Cotton enjoyed coon hunting, fishing, and playing cards.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Morgan Harris and E.C. Harris, and nephew, Robert L. “Bob” Harris, Sr.
Cotton is survived by his nieces, Jeannie Saunders and husband John and Sheila Harris; great nieces and nephews, Lyle Saunders, Mark Saunders and wife Stacie, Bob Harris and wife Pam, and Shonna Harris, Danny Barnes, Terri Davis and husband Don, Kevin Barnes and wife Terri; other relatives and many friends.
The family wants to thank the Gower Convalescent Center and Three Rivers Hospice for the excellent care and all the love they showed Cotton.
Funeral Services: 6:30 p.m. Thursday, December 29th Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower with visitation following until 8:30 p.m.
Private Family Burial: Greenlawn Cemetery, Plattsburg, MO.
Donations may be made to the Plattsburg Senior Center or the Plattsburg Saddle Club.
