Robert Leon Kepner
Robert Leon Kepner, 75, of Hemple, MO formerly of St. Joseph, MO passed away Sunday, July 8, 2007 at a hospital in St. Joseph.
He was born on September 8, 1931 to Max and Bernice Pearl (Young) Kepner in Creston, IA. Bob grew up and attended school in Creston, IA and St. Joseph, MO.
Bob served his country from 1948-1970 in the US Army. After his military retirement he worked for Paper Products in St. Joseph.
He was united in marriage to Betty Stoff and she preceded him in death in 1973. On June 10, 1973 he was united in marriage Louise L. Boyer. After their marriage they lived in Hemple, MO where they made their home.
Bob was a member of the Methodist faith, the Masonic Lodge in St. Joseph and the American Legion Post #11 in St. Joseph.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, step-father, David Reece and one brother, Billie Gene Kepner.
Bob is survived by his wife, Louise of the home; his sons, Bobby Kepner, Council Bluffs, IA, and Rick Kepner and wife, Cindy, St. Joseph; four grandchildren, Damien, Blake, Ryan and Clayton; Louise’s family, daughter, Sharon Beery and husband Chuck; two grandchildren, Skeeter Beery and Cheryl Beery and special friend Jeff Freeman, all of Gower, MO; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Kepner, Centerville, IA; three sisters, Joyce Brown, Betty Anderson and Margaret Adams, all of St. Joseph; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Graveside Service: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 11th at Freeman Chapel Cemetery, Easton, MO
Friends may call from 12:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.
