Robert “Bob” Hundley
ROBERT “BOB” HUNDLEY
Robert “Bob” Frederick Hundley, 82, of Gladstone, Mo., formerly of Atchison, Ks., passed away Monday, September 19, 2005 at North Kansas City Hospital.
He was born on October 1, 1922 to Floyd and Frieda (Eisele) Hundley in Atchison, Kansas. Bob grew up in Atchison and 1940 graduated from Atchison High School. He then served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII as a Sergeant.
On October 5, 1968 he was united in marriage to Myrt, after their marriage they lived in Gladstone where they made their home.
Bob worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and later Kansas Power and Light Company. He then work for the Ford Motor Assembly Plant in Claycomo for over 30 years retiring in 1986 as a service inspector. Bob was a member of the United Auto Workers #249 in Claycomo.
Bob joined the Hillside Christian Church in Kansas City on February 15, 1970 where he served as a deacon and sang in the church choir. Bob was also a member of the Sheffield Masonic Lodge #625 in Kansas City, Mo, a member and past commander of VFW Post 1157, and the Fleming-Jackson-Seever American Legion Post both in Atchison, Ks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one nephew, Douglas Hawk.
He is survived by his wife, Myrt, of the home, sister, Donna Hundley Hawk, Littleton, Co., two nephews, David Hawk, Littleton, Co., and Danny Hawk, Kearns, Utah, several great nieces and nephews, numerous cousins in the Atchison area, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 22nd at the Hillside Christian Church, 900 NE Vivian Rd, Kansas City, Mo.
Graveside Service and Burial: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 22nd at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Atchison, Ks.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.
Donations may be made to church in his memory.
