Robert B. Martin
Robert B. Martin, 96 of Edgerton, MO, passed away, Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the Gower Convalescent Center.
He was born May 26, 1916 to John and Ethel (Coffey) Martin near Albany, MO where he grew up and attended school. Bob worked on a farm in Albany before entering the military. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Bob met his wife, Beulah Grable, at Fairyland Park in Kansas City where he was a ride tester, and she sold tickets. On December 7, 1941 they were united in marriage. After their marriage they lived near Edgerton where he farmed. His wife, Beulah, passed away, December 4, 2011.
Bob was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was 60 year member of American Legion Post #445 in Edgerton. Bob and Beulah were Foster Parents for many years. He enjoyed trail riding, playing cards, visiting with friends, and mostly being with his grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Jasper Martin, Omer Martin and Morris Martin and one sister, Francis Martin.
Bob is survived by his daughters, Donna Kinyon and husband Joe, Edgerton, MO and Julie Martin, Edgerton, MO; five grandchildren, Robert Kinyon and wife Dione, David Kinyon and wife Lisa, Jenera Kyle and Mark Green, Corbin Langner and husband Kevin, and Cian Martin; eight great-grandchildren, Kody, Bevyn, Kora, Elias, Julina, Steiger, Livia, and Zoe; sister-in-law, Ione Crouch, Kansas City, MO; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Memorial Service: 3:30 p.m. Saturday, December 8th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton with visitation following until 5:30 p.m.
Donations may be made to the American Legion or Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
