ROBERT ALLEN

Robert ?Bob? Henry Allen, 71, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away, April 19, 2005 at his home.

He was born on June 1, 1933 to John Hudson and Lillie (Stabel) Allen in Higgins, Texas, where he grew up and graduated high school. In 1966 he surrendered to Christian Ministry and entered college at Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Journalism. He also attended Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary for 3 years. Bob was ordained by Linden Baptist Church in November of 1974. He served as pastor at Nebo Pleasant Hill Church near Liberty, Mo. Bob was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Smithville where he was involved in many projects including, serving as Sunday School Director, Methusaleh?s Friends, and was the originator of the Greeter program.

On April 5, 1953 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Mae Peterson. After their marriage they lived in Texas and Oklahoma. In 1972 they moved to Gladstone, and later Smithville and Kansas City where they made their home.

Bob worked for Sante Fe Railroad and the North Kansas City School District.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Smithville.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, half brother, John, and half sister, Lucille.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of the home, son, James Allen and wife, Julie, Lenexa, Ks., daughter, Loretta Evans and husband, Mike, Hudson, Ohio, daughter, Lynn Kobby and husband, Bob, Kansas City, Mo., and son, John Allen and wife, Cora, Liberty, Mo., grandchildren, Jessica and Drew Kobby, Michael Allen, Tara Evans, and Zachary and Sarah Allen, brother, Jesse Allen, Wichita Falls, Texas, other relatives and many friends.

Memorial Service: 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 22nd at the First Baptist Church in Smithville, with visitation from 9:30-11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
Inurnment: I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Smithville.
