Richard Vernon Pine
Richard Vernon Pine, 69, of Platte City, MO passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at St. Luke’s Northland Hospital.
He was born on September 27, 1939 to Orvia Vernon and Willella Mae (Pepper) Pine in Camden Point, MO where he grew up and in 1958, graduated from North Platte High School.
On May 26, 1961 he was united in marriage to Carole Jean Murphy. After their marriage they moved to Platte City where they made their home.
Richard retired from KC Abrasive after over 20 years of service.
He was a member of the Little Platte Baptist Church, Edgerton, MO.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and one sister-in-law, Mary Pine.
He is survived by his wife, Carole of the home, one son Kent Pine and wife, Suzanne, Platte City; grandchildren Katie Zion and Jace Pine; three brothers Robert Pine, Riverside, MO, Ronnie Pine and wife, Shirley, Platte City, and Donald Pine, Weston, MO; several nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 17th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville
Burial: Platte City Cemetery
Visitation: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
