Richard McCorkle
Richard McCorkle, 64, of Smithville, MO, passed away, Thursday, October 28, 2010
He was born on September 22, 1946 to George Allen and Ola May (Crosswhite) McCorkle in St. Joseph, MO. He grew up in Paradise and graduated from Smithville High School 1964. He then served his country in U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
On March 29, 1971 he was united in marriage to Vivian Lee Moore. After their marriage they lived in the Kansas City area. In 1988 they moved to Smithville where they made their home.
Richard worked for TWA and American Airlines for over 30 years. After his retirement he enjoyed working at North Hills Auto Mart in Smithville. He was a car enthusiast, and traded over 200 cars in his 40 years of collecting.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Richard is survived by his wife, Vivian, of the home; son, Damon McCorkle, Palm Dessert, CA; brother, Joe McCorkle and wife, Paula, Turney, MO; one niece and one nephew; other relatives and many friends.
Memorial Service: 6:30 p.m. Monday, November 1st at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation following until 8:30 p.m.
