Richard Lee McCauley

Richard Lee McCauley, 64, of rural Stewartsville, MO, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012.

He was born on April 27, 1947 to Newell Everett and Betty Lou (LaMar) McCauley in St. Joseph, MO. Richard “King” grew up in the Faucett Willowbrook area and in 1965 graduated from Faucett High School. He then served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, he was a member of the Naval Reserve Sea Bees Unit. Richard “King” later received his Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education from Missouri Western State College in 1972.

On December 8, 1973, he was united in marriage to Holly Pence. After their marriage, they lived in rural Stewartsville where they made their home.

He was a member of the American Legion-Robinson Beech Post #508 in Stewartsville, the Assistance League at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron, was a board member of Farmers Mutual Insurance and was also a member of the Plattsburg Country Club and Golf Course.

Richard “King” worked for General Motors in Kansas City, KS, the Fairfax Assembly Center, for 30 years where he retired on June 1, 2000.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Gardner and his father Everett McCauley, an infant sister, Vickie Marie McCauley, and beloved niece, Vicki Crockett.

Richard “King” is survived by his wife, Holly; children, Lee Ann McCauley, Brian Clay McCauley and Allison Rae McCauley Stewart and husband Greg; grandchildren, Clio Marie, and Camile Simone; great-grandchildren, Tristen and Mira; brothers and sisters, Les (Sue) McCauley, Connie (Dennis) Jobes, Bo (Kathy) McCauley, Sandee (Danny) O’Donnell, Bonnie (Buck) Buglewicz, Cheryl (Jay) White, and Scott (Tara) McCauley; sister-in-law, Dee Ann (Bob) Richardson; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives many friends.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 12th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower

Burial: Mt. Zion Cemetery

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Assistance League Missouri Veterans Home.
