Richard L. Hadley

Richard L. Hadley, 82 of Smithville, MO passed away, Tuesday, October 21, 2014.

 

He was born on February 10, 1932 to Roy Preston and Eugenia (Saxton) Hadley in rural Platte County, MO where he grew up and attended school.

 

On April 11, 1951 he was united in marriage to Esther Lorene Turner.  After their marriage they lived in Smithville where they made their home and raised their family.  His wife, Esther, passed away March 19, 2005.

 

Richard worked for Ford Motor Company and Lock Joint Pipe Company. In 1970 Richard founded Hadley Construction, which he owned and operated for 27 years building numerous homes in the Smithville area.  Richard enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, mushroom hunting and fishing.

 

Richard was also preceded in death by his parents, and daughter, Brenda.

 

He is survived by his four sons, Rickie Hadley, Rodney Hadley, Richard D. Hadley and Robert Hadley and wife Cindy; special daughter, Marilyn Moore; seven grandchildren, Sonny, Tanya, Ricky Lee, Ami, John, Samantha and Tyler; fourteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Louis Hadley and Lawrence Hadley; sister, Gladys Turner;; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

 

Funeral Services:  11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 25th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.

Visitation:  6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Burial:  Smithville Memorial Cemetery.
