Richard Joseph “Dick” Routon

Richard Joseph “Dick” Routon, 69, of Grayson, MO passed away February 19, 2016.

He was born on November 3, 1946 to Troy Joseph and Dorothy Mae (Graves) Routon in St. Joseph, MO where he grew up and attended school.  Dick served his country in the US Navy.

On June 23, 1983 he was united in marriage to Pam.  After their marriage they lived in Grayson, MO where they made their home. 

Dick built automotive engines for several race car drivers in the Kansas City and St. Joseph circuit as well as motors for street rods.  He was an avid Nascar Fan and was honored from the KU Medical Team and The Kansas Speedway with several memorabilia items along with a piece of the finish line from the track.  He has now crossed the “big” finish line to Heaven to be with his Lord.

Dick was a member of the Gower American Legion. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew TroyLee Heimbegner.

Dick is survived by his wife Pam Routon; children Michelle Routon, Cary Johnson and husband Michael and Amy Routon; grandchildren Jimmy, Jessica, Cody, Tyler, Megan, Zack, Kayla, Shelby, and Nicole; numerous great-grandchildren; brothers Billy ”Pezer” Routon and wife Louise and Joseph Scotton; sister Judith Davis and husband Richard; several nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends. 

Memorial Service:  2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27th with visitation from 12:30-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at Family Worship Center, Smithville, MO
