Richard Dean Murphy
Richard
Dean Murphy, 72, of Raymore, MO formerly of Platte County, MO passed away
September 26, 2015.
He
was born on December 10, 1942 to Edward Eugene and Viola Clementine (Watkins)
Murphy in Smithville, MO. Richard grew
up in rural Edgerton, MO and in 1960 graduated from North Platte High School.
On
November 17, 1962 he was united in marriage to Nellie Joe Briggs. After their marriage they lived in Dearborn,
MO, Marion, IN, Platte City, MO, Edgerton, MO, Liberty, MO, and in 1974 they
moved to Raymore, MO where they made their home.
Richard
retired from the Missouri Department of Transportation after 30 years of
service. He enjoyed tinkering in his
garage, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
He
was preceded in death by his parents.
Richard
is survived by his wife Nellie Murphy of the home; children Rhonda Rudder and
husband Dean, Gene Murphy and Jena Patterson and husband James; grandchildren
Ron Rudder, Aaron Rudder and Shaina Murphy; great-granddaughters Kyndall,
Karleigh, Kaitlyn, Brooklyn and one on the way; sister Carol Pine; nephew Kent
Pine and wife Lori; aunt who was like a mother Ruth Murphy; other nieces and
nephews, and many friends.
Funeral
Service: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September
30th with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the services all
at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville
Burial: Ridgely Cemetery
