Richard Allen “Dick” DuBois
Richard Allen “Dick” DuBois, 90, of Edgerton, MO passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Gower Convalescent Center.
He was born on June 3, 1923 to Lewis and Nina P (Lee) DuBois in Smithville, MO. Dick grew up in the Trimble and Smithville area. He then served his country in the US Marine Corps.
On February 9, 1943 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Louise Humphrey. After their marriage they lived in Trimble where they made their home. Dorothy passed away on December 28, 1987. In 1990 Dick married Marjorie Louella Harris. After their marriage they lived near Edgerton and in 2001 they moved to the Gower Convalescent Center. Marjorie passed away on January 12, 2003.
Dick retired from GM Motors. After his retirement he worked for Major Lumber in Smithville.
He was a member of the Trimble Baptist Church and attended the Ridgley Christian Church. Dick and Marjorie were among the founders of the Gower Goodtimers. Dick enjoyed his fishing trips to Canada and loved being outdoors and gardening.
He was also preceded in death by his son Larry DuBois; brothers, Emmett, William and Lee DuBois; and sisters, Leona Hawkins, Bessie Miller, and Elizabeth DuBois
Dick is survived by his grandchildren, Kelly Jones and husband Kevin, Smithville, MO and David DuBois, Parkville, MO; great-grandchildren, Jimmy and Quinton Brown; great-great-granddaughter Zoey Brown; daughter-in-law, Donna DuBois; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 20th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home Smithville with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to service.
Burial with Military Honors: Smithville Memorial Cemetery
