RAYMOND T. MARSHALL, SR.
Raymond T. Marshall, Sr., 80, of Smithville, MO, passed away, Wednesday, November 15, 2006.
He was born on August 26, 1926 to Virgil Claire, Sr. and Iva Fay (Phillips) Marshall in St. Joseph, MO, where he grew up and attended school. He then served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp. during WWII. After his honorable discharge he moved to Kansas City and worked for Gustin-Bacon, National Bellas Hess and TWA as a mechanic.
On August 1, 1975 he was united in marriage to Donna Seaman. After their marriage they lived in Kansas City North, and in 1997 they moved to Smithville where they made their home.
After Raymond’s retirement from TWA he worked part time for the Kansas City Auto Auction. He was also a member of the VFW Post #5606 in Kansas City, and a member of the National Rifle Association. Raymond was a Ham Radio Operator and was a member of the TWA Amateur Radio Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Iva Marie Marshall, and sister, Dixie Dean Cook.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Donna, of the home; son, Raymond Thomas Marshall, Jr. and wife, Vicki, Gladstone, MO; step-daughter, Valerie Gamble and husband, Charles, Plattsburg, MO; step-granddaughter, Cheyenne, brother, Clarence “Bud” Marshall and wife, Wanda, Independence, MO; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville, MO.
Burial with Military Honors: Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Smithville.
Visitation: 6:30-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
