RAYMOND L. SCHONEWETTER

Raymond L. Schonewetter, 77, of Smithville, MO, passed away, Monday, February 20, 2006.

He was born on July 8, 1928 to Fred and Alta May (Crawford) Schonewetter in Nevada, Missouri, where he grew up and attended school.

On February 1, 1950 he was united in marriage to Lois Slates. After their marriage they lived in Lamar, Missouri and in 1955 moved to the Kansas City area where they made their home.

Raymond was a truck driver for Sante Fe and Yellow Freight for many years, retiring in 1993.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Lois, of the home, two sons, Mike Schonewetter and wife, Jennifer, Higginsville, MO, and Alvin Schonewetter and wife, Nancy, Plattsburg, MO, four daughters, Gail Lamb, Smithville, MO, Connie Shackelford and husband, P.A., Edgerton, MO, Lea Ann Moore and husband, John, Edgerton, MO, and Brenda Estes and husband, John, Smithville, MO, eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one brother, Randle Schonewetter, Michigan, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Private family services and burial were held at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Smithville, MO.
