Ray McClanahan
Ray McClanahan, 88, of Gower, MO passed away Friday, March 14, 2014 at his home.
He was born on April 14, 1925 to William Frederick and Aldyth Nannie (Ward) McClanahan near Edgerton where he grew up and attended school. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII.
He worked in farming most of his life. He also worked for Land Construction, then later for Lawhon Construction, from which he retired. After retirement, he continued to work in farming for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Herman, Bill and Jim; one sister, Virginia Anderson; and nephew Stanley Anderson.
Ray is survived by his sister, Wardie Hines, Gower MO; nephew Ken Anderson; nieces Rosalee Thomas and Beverly Meade; and Phyllis Wozniak; several great-nieces and great-nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 16th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.
Inurnment with Military Honors: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 18th Allen Cemetery, Gower.
