Ray Heath

George Ray Heath, 71, of Smithville, MO passed away June 20, 2016.

He was born on December 3, 1944 to Daniel Wilbur and Hattie Louise (Strange) Heath in Plattsburg, MO where he grew up and graduated from Plattsburg High School.  Ray then served his country in the US Navy.

On October 12, 1974 he was united in marriage to Margaret Ruth “Marge” Heath.  After their marriage they lived near Edgerton, MO where they made their home.  Marge passed away on April 26, 1996 and in 1998 Ray moved to Smithville, MO.

Ray worked for Pile Construction, doing foundation work.  In 1980, Ray started his own concrete business.  Ray along with his son Charles continued with the concrete business until his retirement in 2005.  After his retirement he helped Charles with his landscaping business.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 58 in Smithville.  Ray loved being outdoors and gardening. 

Ray was also preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his son Charles Heath; step-son Eddie White, Jr.; step-daughter Gay Lynn Hall and husband Scott; several grand and great-grandchildren; brother Pat Heath and wife Janice; nephew Danny Heath and wife Amy; niece Lea Ann Lowery and husband Jim; great-nephew Tyler Brittain; great-niece Hannah Heath; other relatives and many friends.   

Memorial Visitation:  6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, June 24th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville

Graveside Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday June 25th at Ridgely Cemetery, Ridgely, MO
