R. CURTIS STUBBS

Ralph Curtis Stubbs, Sr., 71, of Edgerton, MO, passed away Friday, September 22, 2006.

He was born on November 2, 1934 to Newlin Jackson and Beulah Bethel (Rule) Stubbs in Edgerton where he grew up and later graduated from Smithville High School.

On August 6, 1955 he was united in marriage to G. Elaine Schmitt. After their marriage they lived in Edgerton where they made their home.

Curtis was a lifelong farmer and also worked for TWA, Skelly Oil Company and later retired from Farmland Industries.

He was a member of the Little Platte Baptist Church. Curtis served as a school board member for North Platte R-1 School District for 9 years and was a president for 3 years. He also served on the board of the Platte County Water District #8 for 5 years.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents two sisters, Mary B. Edwards and Joy Lee Hatfield.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine, of the home, children, Ralph Stubbs, Jr. and wife, Barbara, Edgerton, Jackson Stubbs, Kansas City, MO, James R. Stubbs, Edgerton and Sherri Meyer and husband, Robert, Bella Vista, AR, four grandchildren, Sara Stubbs Lange and husband, Matt, Justin Stubbs and Madalyn and Lilly Meyer, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 26th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.
Burial: I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Smithville
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
