Phyllis Charlene (Lindsay) Horn
Phyllis Charlene
Horn, 83, of Gower, MO passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015.
She was born
on November 13, 1931. Charlene grew up in
Smithville and graduated from Smithville High School in 1949.
On June 1,
1949 she was united in marriage to Alva Frank “Jack” Horn. After their marriage they lived in rural
Edgerton and Smithville. In 1955, they
moved to Montoursville, Pennsylvania and they returned to rural Gower in 1962
where they farmed and made their home. Charlene
and Jack owned and operated Horns Farm Supply for over 20 years. Jack passed away on September 21, 2012.
Charlene
was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gower. When her children were young, she was active
with Vacation Bible School and Sunday School.
She was also a member of the Buzzin Dozen. Charlene especially loved spending time with
her family.
She was also
preceded in death by her parents Charles Richard Lindsay and Maude Ruth
(Simpson) and Thomas Tritt; brother Richard Charles Lindsay; and sister Alma
Lawrence.
Charlene is
survived by children, Bonnie Jakylovich and husband John, Betty Hensley and
husband Jerry, Bob Horn and wife Kathi, Bryan Horn and wife Gail, and Brad Horn
and Steffanie; grandchildren, Lindsay, Kyle, Jodi, Jacqueline, Jamie, Ryan,
Jonathan, Lauren, Joshua, Erica, Christopher, Angie, Charlsi and Konor; twenty
three-great-grandchildren with one on the way; one great-great-grandson;
brother Donald Lindsay and wife Betty; sister-in-law Joan McMillian; several
nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral
Service: 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 19th
at the First Baptist Church, Gower.
Burial: Hebron Cemetery, Gower
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at the church.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the church or the cemetery.
