Penny DeMoss

Edra Mae “Penny” DeMoss, 90, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Monday, February 6, 2017.

She was born on September 14, 1926 to Edward and Lorena (Spence) Flint in Bethany, MO where she grew up and graduated from Bethany High School.  Penny then moved to Kansas City and in 1958 moved to the Park Hill area in Kansas City.

Penny was united in marriage to Lloyd DeMoss on December 14, 1946.  After their marriage, they lived in Kansas City where they made their home.  They had two sons, Michael and Douglas.

Penny worked in Kansas City as a Legal Secretary for many years.  She also was a tax practitioner since 1955.  Penny was involved in Boy Scouts and was a member of the Christian Faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Douglas DeMoss and her sister Lois Nadine Nickerson.

Penny is survived by her son, Michael DeMoss and wife Hyun Joung Kim, Olathe, KS; two grandchildren, Michael DeMoss and wife Deborah and Laura Decatur and husband Adam; three step-grandchildren Dan Kim, Eliza Montress and husband Eric and Ali Chang and husband Teng; eleven great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 11th with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Smithville

Burial: 2:00 p.m. Saturday February 11th at Miriam Cemetery, Bethany, MO
