Paul E. King, Sr.
Paul Eugene King, Sr., 78, of St. Joseph, Mo., passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at his home.
He was born on October 11, 1926 to Carl and Effie Louisa (Hall) King in Avenue City, Mo. Paul grew up and attended school in Union Star, Mo. He then served his country in the US Navy during WWII and the US Air Force during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, Paul moved to St. Joseph, Morrison, Colorado and in 1988 returned to St. Joseph, where he made his home.
Paul worked for Sanders Volkswagen and Welty?s Garage both in St. Joseph.
He was a member of the VFW Post #6760, in St. Joseph and was also a pitcher for many men?s fast pitch softball teams in St. Joseph.
Paul was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Jo King, his parents, and two sisters, Mary Leola Morgan and Eva Fern Cavendar.
He is survived by three sons, Ron King, St. Joseph, Steven A. King, Agency, Mo., and Paul E. King, Jr., St. Joseph, three daughters, Trudy Dilley, Savannah, Mo., Brenda Babbs and Karla King, both of St. Joseph, fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, one brother, Floyd Carl King, Indian Hills, Co., and one sister, Wilma McCoy, St. Joseph, several nieces and nephews, other relatives, many friends and his beloved cat?s, Baby and Buster.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 5th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower
VISITATION: 7:00-9:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home
PRIVATE BURIAL: Flag Springs Cemetery, Union Star, Mo.
