Patricia Elaine (Engebretsen) Aker
Patricia Aker, 77, of Smithville, MO, passed away Monday, July 2, 2012.
She was born on February 28, 1935 to Harry K. and Florence Lucille (Ingram) Engebreten in Des Moines, IA. Patricia was raised in the Los Angeles, California area where she graduated from High School.
On January 16, 1955 she was united in marriage to John William “Bill” Aker in California. After their marriage they lived in Santa Monica, California and in 1971 moved to Smithville where they made their home. Her husband, Bill passed away, July 20, 2006.
She was an active member of Grace Community Church in Smithville. Patricia was a Sunday School Teacher and helped with Vacation Bible School for over 25 years at the First Baptist Church and the Grace Community Church both in Smithville. She was a past member of the Rebekah Lodge.
Patricia was a homemaker and bookkeeper for Bill’s 66. She enjoyed baking, helping others in many ways, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
Patricia was also preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Angela Tritico, and great-grandson, Andrew Whitham.
She is survived by her children, Patty Bogan and husband Victor, O‘Fallon, MO, Donna Whitham and husband Ronnie, Smithville, MO, Frieda Wood, Edgar Springs, MO, Bryan Aker and wife Carol, Platte City, MO, and Timothy Aker, Smithville, MO; grandchildren, Angela Bogan, Todd Bogan, Kimberly Fales, Jeff Whitham, Rhonda Linder, Justin Aker and Lauren Aker; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Rachael, Hailey, Katie, Tara, Steven, Brittany, Charles, Destiny, and Keanna; sister, Harriet Meeker and husband Bob; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 6th with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the Grace Community Church in Smithville.
Burial: Smithville Memorial Cemetery
Arrangements by Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.
Donations: North Kansas City Hospice House or Grace Community Church.
