Pat Green
Patrick “Pat” Henry Green, 90, of Smithville, MO passed away, Thursday, June 23, 2016.
He was born on April 17, 1926 to Killien and Maybelle (Douglas) Green in Smithville, MO. He attended Woods Elementary School and Lone Star School of Nashua.
Pat then served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1945-1946. On April 21, 1945 he was united in marriage to Lorene Moore. After his honorable discharge they returned to Smithville where they made their home. His wife, Lorene, preceded him in death on September 14, 2003. On August 6, 2005 he married Virginia (McMillan) Adamson.
Pat owned and operated Green’s Repair Shop in Smithville for over 38 years. He was an engineering inventor by nature. He was the last living founder of the Platte County Steam Engine Show.
He was a member of the Smithville Baptist Church and later Paradise Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Pat was a lifetime member of the Gower Goodtimer’s and was instrumental in the construction of the new building.
Pat was also preceded in death by his parents, son Arnold Green, great-granddaughter, Amanda Parker, great-grandson, Patrick Parker, and brother, Bill Green.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Green; son, Kenneth Green and wife Cindy; daughter, Arlene Smith and husband Harold; daughters-in-law Patsy Green and Bonnie Green; seven grandchildren, Mark (Jenara) Green, Julie (Scott) Windle, Jeremy Green, Jennifer (Mike) Brown, Amy (Charles) Layton, Autumn Allnut, and Amber (Keith) Layton; fourteen great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; brother Buster (Lois) Green; sister, Roberta Crawford; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 28th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.
Visitation: 6:30-9:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial with Military Honors: Smithville Memorial Cemetery

Gene and I are so sorry to hear of Pat's passing. He was such an all around great guy. Our thoughts are with you. We remember with fondness back in about 1996 when Gene and Pat were up on the roof putting shingles on our garage. Arnold just had a fit and said to get them 2 old people off the roof. Who knew those "old people" would live another 20 years. Gene and Sandy Littrell
