P. Paul Hanway
P. Paul Hanway, 90, of Faucett, MO, passed away, Monday, August 1, 2011 at Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron.
He was born on April 26, 1921 to Peter Ferdinand and Theresa Matilda (Halter) Hanway in St. Joseph, Missouri. He grew up in rural St. Joseph and attended Oak Hill School. He then served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII.
On September 1, 1956 he was united in marriage to Darline Esther Schultz. After their marriage they farmed near Faucett where they made their home.
He was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Joseph.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Rosemary Schleicher, Betty McPhee and Anna Marie Saunders.
Paul is survived by his wife, Darline; children, Paula Gunn and husband, Robert, Buckner, MO, Rickey Hanway and Jackie, Faucett, MO, and Nancy Audsley and husband, Mike, Kansas City, MO; grandson, Zachary Audsley; brother, Francis Hanway; sisters, Eva Hanway, Wilhelmina Hoffelmeyer, Josephine Jackson, and Imogene Richey; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 4th at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Easton.
Burial with Military Honors: 1:30 p.m. at Leavenworth National Cemetery
Rosary: 6:30 p.m. Wednesday with visitation following until 8:30 p.m at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Gower.
