P.E. “Dude” Chesnut
P.E. “Dude” Chesnut, 80, of Stockton, MO, formerly of Smithville, MO passed away, Sunday, January 3, 2010.
He was born on April 24, 1929 to Claude Robert and Leotta (Miller) Chesnut in Dearborn, Missouri, where he grew up. He then served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He lived most of his life in the Smithville area, where he raised his children. In 2003 Dude moved to Stockton, Missouri.
Dude retired from Ford Motor Company in Claycomo. He was a member of UAW 249. He also farmed in Clay and Platte Counties.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Joseph Ray Chesnut.
Dude is survived by his children, Bradley Chesnut, John Robert Chesnut, Paul Edward Chesnut, Becky Williams, Lewis Chesnut, and Lannie Parr Chesnut; eight grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Visitation: 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 6th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville, MO.
Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Camden Point Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Camden Point Cemetery.
